the WOLF JUMPED OVER THE MOON
My first experience of what " art is" , was influenced by the Catholic church. Art was figures and faces, drama, mystery and spirit . It was painted statues of saints and religious figures, like Saint Francis of Assisi with the animals and Mary standing on a snake that kept me visually entertained. I became interested in symbols and was reading Carl Jung's book on symbolism as a teen. I have used many dreams as subject matter . My work always has some kind of light shining forth and usually water flowing, an all seeing eye , or a wolf or some kind of animal sneaks in. The wolf dreams were the strongest. In one painting I have found biblical angelic looking faces like the Virgin Mary's stereo typical expressionless face, white doves or angels, sometimes just their wings or feathers. My fine arts professor said my work was magical a Reverend said deep and spiritual . I like my work to be entertaining, mysterious, spiritual and most of all imaginative; most often more comes out than was actually intended. I work from imagination; I start with an idea and play with it and see where it takes me . I would like to merge my images more toward my aboriginal cultural background of Métis, French, Cree and Ojibwa and take one idea and let it flow from one to another. Allowing the urging images' to emerge like a river that flows and light rays that stream and the brush ran away with the spoon.

This is a conglomeration of my Métis aboriginal somewhat influenced thoughts and ideas on exploring the many ways of healing; "the wolfpie". This wolf material is just the healing sauce in the great pie of life. This wolf pie must be devoured at your leisure. In it you will get a taste of wolf dream paintings, limited edition wolf art prints and a variety of my creative endeavours. Not all were influenced by the wolf or my aboriginal Métis heritage. Many others have shared with me their wolf dreams. |
